Hey
  i bought a new Zen Vision M 30GB player yesterday and tried charging the player by connecting it to a USB port on my notebook, i left the player to get charged overnight, i woke up in the morning to find out that the player is not charged at all and it just does not turn on.
I am looking for some comprehensive solution, if you can provide me a detailed solution that would be great.
Though i read messsages from the forums, i was not able to figure it out what exactly needs to be done?

New Zen Vision needs 5+hrs to charge and in order for your PC to recognise it. You will know that its charging when the blue LED light is flashing. check out the myZenChecker in the Member Area to help detect if your PC has the preferred config and read the tips. Hope it helps!

Hey thanks for the reply,
i cahrged my Zen vision M for more than 5 hours but still i dont see any flashing light or any battery symbol.
I am right now worried whether i will be able to charge this thing at all.
What should i do now ? Huh

have you click on myZenChecker in Member Area to check that you have all the GOOD results? You shd have Win Xp with SP2, try also the Fix2. If still no good, i suggest you exchange for a new 1 with your retailer while you are still in the warranty period

 I had exactly the same problem with my ZVM 60Gb. Unfortunately I had to send it back for a replacement Sad

Did you check that your firmware was OK and up to date? When I got my zen stone it didn't charge either at first and wouldn't turn on. I went on Creative's site and updated the firmware and voilĂ , works like a charm...

marlo, yes sometimes, its a good move to ask for a replacement while its still within your warranty period. After trying many methods or alternative, asking for a replacement may be a faster way out.

olivier, yes, updating of firmware will solve the zen stone charging issues. glad you found it!
