I bought a zen after seeing a friend's.  When I got it, it wouldn't connect to my pc.  I consider myself an extremely advanced pc user.  I work for a computer company and I have six pc's in my house.  The Zen connected to my work pc, but none of my home pc's would.  I would get a message saying "mtp device found", the pc would try to find the driver and fail, and then the process would start all over, again and again.  I emailed customer support at creative, I also called them.  Honestly they were fairly useless (typical help desk stuff).  I searched google, I searched the support forums.  I knew it was a driver problem but couldn't figure it out.  And then I found a reference to a program called "driver genius", there was a trial version available so I figured what the heck.  I installed it and ran the program, afterward I connected my zen, and it WORKED!  I took it home and installed it on a pc that has vista and it WORKED.  I liked the program so much that I thought it was worth the $30 and bought it, I figured they deserved it.

I hope this helps someone out there having connection problems. 

I DO NOT work for the company that makes the program, just trying to help.  If I'm breaking any forum rules, please delete the post.

thanks for sharing your experience, its good to see such solutions available but it will cost you $30 bucks. our myzenchecker tool is free! i urge all of you with connection problem to try and its not limited to zen players only, all mtp devices including zune, samsung, iriver can give it a shot

It is so refreshing to find someone who has actually solved their own problem.  I have tried to help on the Creative forums, but I swear that everyone signing on, expects you to hand feed them the answers.  Most must be 12 years old.  No one there knows how to use the search button.

Thanks for letting me rant a little.  I feel better now.

Hi luvshihtzu, nice to meet you. yes, most of the people wants fast answers without first reading up. its quite common, even when we have a FAQ, there will still be people asking same questions. well, we are ok, just answer them when we are online

i used to be active there too, answering the same questions
