Ah, Finally fixed it ran clean up several times rebooting each time now lists in the creative software WMP10. All I can think of is maybe the drive became so fragmented.

I have similar problem, but mine player is recognized by windows as removable device, and I can't format it or open it. my friend said that it is probably some virus, because he has the same issue with his usb stick. Has anybody some idea what is the problem, or should I trow it?

you have to format it using the creative media lite
or you right-click on the removable drive and see if there is a 'format' option
or how about you just delete all the songs in the removable drive
