Creative MP3 player reset cheat sheet. - ZEN Tips, Tricks, Hacks - Creative Labs MP3 Player

Even now i'm not sure how to go to recovery mode of all MP3 players. I thought maybe i could list them?

So if you have any too add please feel free.

Thankfully with a bit of an search Anythingbutipod already had a pretty comprehensive list. But i'll just post it here for references for everybody. (check out their site though it's very awesome) Also an actual helpful Creative post? Indeed...::rubs chin::

Zen Style X-Fi/300/100
1. Press and hold the Back button while the player is switched on.
Note: Can someone please confirm this? It seems like you turn your Zen Style off and before you turn it on you hold back than turn it on. This seems to go for all 3 Style players

Zen X-Fi 2
1. Press and hold the Home/Menu button while powering up the unit

2. Release the power button once the splash screen display appears

3. Continue holding down the Home/Menu button until the Recovery Mode screen appears

4. The Recovery Mode screen appears, and three menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All and Reboot.

Creative Zen X-Fi:
1. Press and hold the play/pause button. Continue to hold the play/pause button until you perform Steps 3 and 4. If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again.

2. Gently push the end of a thin object (like a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole.

3. Slide the On/Off/Lock switch towards the power sign and hold until the display lights up.

Creative Zen
1. To reset the player, gently insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.

2. Press and hold the Play/Pause button while powering on your player.

3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.

Zen Mozaic EZ100/Zen Mozaic EZ300
1. Turn off your player.

2. Press and hold the Play/Pause button to turn on the player.

3. When the Creative logo appears , press and hold the MENU back button until the Recovery Mode screen appears. Three menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All, and Reboot.

Zen Mozaic
1 Turn off your player.

2 Press and hold the Play/Pause.Continue to hold the Play/Pause button until you perform Steps 3 and 4.If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again.

3 Gently push the end of a thin object (like a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole. The reset button for the ZEN Mozaic is located on the left side of the player, with the menu buttons facing you.

4 Slide the On/Off/Lock switch towards the power button and hold until the display lights up. The Recovery Mode screen appears, and four menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware and Reboot.

Zen V/Plus
1. To reset the player, gently insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.

2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.

3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.

Zen Vision M
1. Slide the Power switch towards the Power icon and hold the switch in the Power On position.

2. Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.

Zen Vision
1. Remove the battery.

2. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the Zen Vision. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears.

Zen Sleek/Sleek Photo
1. Connect the power supply to the player.

2. Hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a paper clip into the Reset hole underneath your player, beside the data/power connector. Keep on holding the Play/Pause button while you release the Reset button. The Rescue Mode screen will then appear.

Creative Zen 20GB
1. Connect the power supply to the player (Optional)

2. Slide the Power switch towards the Power On icon and hold it there while inserting one end of a paper clip into the Reset hole underneath your player.

Warning: Take care to insert the paper clip into the Reset hole and NOT the Microphone

3. The Rescue Mode screen appears when Zen turns on.

Zen Micro/Micro Photo
1. Make sure it's turned off.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the Zen Micro. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears.

Zen Touch/Xtra/NX/USB 2.0/Firewire
1. Connect the power supply to the player.

2. Hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a paper clip into the Reset hole on your player.

3. Wait for 4 seconds or so, and then remove the paper clip.

4. Keep on holding the Play/Pause button till the Rescue Mode screen appears.

5. After the recovery mode has started, release the Play/Pause button.
