Also, I wanted to thank you for this site. I was one of those people who couldn't get their Windows to recognize the Zen, so i trouble shot and was completely satisfied. Thanks again.

Ah, Finally fixed it ran clean up several times rebooting each time now lists in the creative software WMP10. All I can think of is maybe the drive became so fragmented.

I've read through a ton of these posts but nothing is seeming to work.  First of all, here's what I am running/using:

Windows XP SP 2, or SP 3 (depending on computer)
Windows Media 10 or 11 (I've gotten quite good at rolling back...)
Creative Zen Vision M: 30 GB

First, the player won't turn on.  The blue light lights up when it is plugged in (I have a wall charger), but goes off after I unplug it.  I replaced the battery because I thought that was the problem, but to no avail.  Also, the player is not recognized, by Windows, MediaSource, Media Player, etc.  It is not listed in Device Manager.  I uninstalled everything and reinstalled from the installation disk, to no avail.  Maybe I just need to install the driver, with no other files?  I'm not really sure how to do that though, as when I explore the CD I can't find anything labeled as driver.  Please help, this is driving me crazy!

Okay, so I ran myzenchecker and all of the settings came back good.  I tried also Fix 2 with no success.  When I click on the link to Fix 3, I couldn't find any steps to follow, it just opened the main screen.  The player still is not working.  Any other ideas?  I really appreciate it, and I will fight this thing to the death!  Luckily my Stone Plus is still fine and is getting me through.  Thanks again!

let it charged for at least 5+hrs since you replaced your battery, then do a cleanup or format zen if cleanup doesnt work. PS: format with erase all your content

It has been charged well over 5 hours.  It was plugged in for an entire day already.  Also, I can't even get to recovery mode.  The device won't even turn on.  Once in awhile, when I hit reset, the screen turns on and is completely white.  That is the only response I ever get.

use the paperclip to insert into a tiny hole near the on/off switch to reset your zen, does it work?

No, the reset button does not really do anything.  Once in awhile the screen will turn on all white.  I bought a new USB cable today, we'll see if this will help.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
