Also, I wanted to thank you for this site. I was one of those people who couldn't get their Windows to recognize the Zen, so i trouble shot and was completely satisfied. Thanks again.

Ah, Finally fixed it ran clean up several times rebooting each time now lists in the creative software WMP10. All I can think of is maybe the drive became so fragmented.

I have a ZEN X-FI I bought from a pawn shop and it works great as far as listening to whats on it and recognizing an sd card and playing music off of that.

My problem is , I went to hook it up to the old pc and all h e double hockey sticks broke loose. My pc picked it up , said it found new hardware CREATIVE ZEN then I
saw the dredded MTP device . It starts to install it and then in a split second it says can not install MTP device blah blah blah. So I did nine kinds of homework and it's been a week of trial and error now. Here is what I'm running and what I've done ,

Running- WDS XP PRO SP3 WMP11

What I've done-

I have done the uninstall of wmp11 to wmp10
I have done the download driver this and that
I have done the install of creative this and that
I have even made a folder on my desktop with the folders ,
wpdmtpus.dll , wpdmtp.dll , wpdmtpdr.dll , wpdconns.dll and a whole bunch more and it will now try to install but instead of saying MTP DEVICE , it says CREATIVE ZEN can not install due to the configuration registry is invalid . I have all the latest firmware , creative drivers and files in a folder , the only thing I can't get is the myzenchecker due to I can't afford it being a heart patient with very little cash each month . So if anyone has any ideas , please let me know .
