Also, I wanted to thank you for this site. I was one of those people who couldn't get their Windows to recognize the Zen, so i trouble shot and was completely satisfied. Thanks again.

Ah, Finally fixed it ran clean up several times rebooting each time now lists in the creative software WMP10. All I can think of is maybe the drive became so fragmented.
Thanks for the input and Great site!

Well, here's an update after a lot of back and forth with Creative's customer service. The ultimate conclusion provided in their last email was that they don't recommend putting more than 100 songs on a playlist. o_O I consider this answer to be 100% BS. At some point I'll be making a playlist with 100 songs, transferring it, then seeing if the player opens the playlist correctly. I tried using winamp, but didn't recognize the Zen MX. I really like Media Monkey, and the recent software upgrade allows me to see the content of the playlists on my Zen MX now. Not that the player opens the lists properly, but at least I can see what songs the player is supposed to be playing, right? haha I'm pretty much done with the whole issue. I'm just going to continue putting one playlist on the player at a time and playing all tracks. I've already adapted to the player's shortcommings. This whole experience has unfortunately made me consider looking outside of Creative Labs when I end up needing a new player again. Hopefully that won't be for a couple of years. *crosses fingers*

Hi,
I have the same problems with the playlists as discribed in first post. When i create a playlist with CreativeCentrale the player sees the playlist but has no entries...
When i create a playlist directly with the player, the list includes all the songs from the player (146). I tried to cut the list from 146 entries to 20 entries with Centrale. Then the player shows only 8 entries  Shocked
Firmware 1.01.06 does not solve the problem.

Any ideas

Hei. First of all, I tried to register but my username is not recognized. Hopefully someone can help me without username...

Also I have a problem with synchronizing playlists on my Zen MX.

Tried the following:
- Updated firmware to 1.01.06: same issue
- Synched via WMP (playlist name .m3u): the music is synched, but not the playlist
- Synched via MediaMonkey: music is synched, playlist does appear when I look at Zen in Windows Explorer. However, it is not placed in the "Playlist" folder that already exists on the Zen, it is placed in a new folder called "Playlists".
- Copied the .m3u file from Playlists to Playlist via Windows Explorer: playlist shows on the Zen, but doesn't contain any music.

I actually did try Creative Centrale. But it was too slow so I had to give up. Will try that now. However, this will not work for me as I do want to shuffle when listening to music on my laptop. And I don't have time enough to use two programs (updating etc.).

Have emailed Creative, but no response yet.

Anyone any other idea? Thanks!

In Centrale, Right Click a song - Add to Playlist - "abc"
Select Playlist - "abc" - the song is not added!!!
(This happened in some PC not all)
Workarround:
Drag and drop the song into playlist "abc" --- it works.

Well, I tried WMP and MediaMonkey. It's the latter one that I want to keep using.

But thanks for the tip, I'll try WinAmp as soon as I get my MP3 player back. I returned it to the shop for repair as I believe an item of 1000 nok should instantly work and not with workarounds and starting using new programs Wink. I'm curious what they are going to reply and will let it know here in case they have better information. My guess is that there is a bug in the firmware and they "just" need to make a new build. But then again, what do I know..

Good luck to all of you great people trying to help all of us! Great work on this forum I must say! Keep it up.

one reason is that it's moving so slow is because it's syncing with your computer and trying to find music files and it's terrible at it and it takes a  reaaaaalllly long time and it sucks at it. It should be a little syncing icon at the lower left side of the screen i'm fairly sure you can actually cancel it.

Oh no! How long does it take, until creative will bring up a new firmware, that will fix the problem with the playlists? The Zen MX is my first creative and I dont know how fast is the support with such things?

there's already a new firmware for zen mx and the zen mx playlist problem can be resolved by upgrading to the latest firmware.

Also i found out about that other music player

It's called

Aimp

It can convert nearly all music extensions to any other that you want. I haven't toyed around too much with the playlist features yet and porting them over to my zen. But still it's quite the amazing music player and such low resource usage.

Mozaic EZ100 latest firmware 1.03.05 and latest Creative Centrale 1.14.03

Same problems as original post
1. Playlists in Creative Centrale do not copy across the contents. I even changed the name of a playlist and the name changed on the EZ100 but the playlist only contains 4 of the 9 songs!

2. Adding playlists directly on the EX100 doesn't work at all. They may appear for a while and then get deleted.. all this happens without ever connecting to a PC

Sorry but it is absolutely rubbish software and firmware in my opinion... can't understand how it can be released.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
